Princess Charlene's Fashion

Charlene's Clutches IDed

Since it's a very slow week with no new (pictured) appearances, I thought I'd update you on 2 clutches that I've IDed recently.

The first clutch was worn last May in Cannes to the World Images Lova Closing Party in Cannes and later the same day to the Cavalli yacht party.

I thought the clutch was Cavalli, mainly because she was going to a Cavalli party, but it turned out to be Ralph Lauren Collection.

The Embellished lizard clutch comes from the Fall 2011 collection and would cost £3,056 on Net-A-Porter who described it as:
Ralph Lauren Collection's vibrant jungle-green lizard clutch is the luxe way to inject color into pared-back looks. The crystal-embellished Art Deco-inspired clasp gives an on-trend nod to fashion's current retro-revival.

The other clutch comes from the same designer, Charlene wore it in October 2011 in Toronto to attend the Grace Kelly from Movie Star to Princess Exhibit  with a Dior dress, the clutch looked familiar back then but I never knew why until yesterday when I remembered that I'd seen Jessica Alba carrying it earlier.

This clutch too comes from the Fall 2011 collection and is inspired by vintage jewelry boxes.

I like how it gave interest to a rather simple outfit.

Which clutch is your favorite?

Princess Charlene's MONAA Gala's Mystery Solved!

Back in November, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert attended the second MONAA gala. Many sites applauded Charlene's look and described it as "a blue velvet dress with a pair of pumps and earrings". With no mention of a designer, I've emailed every single fashion house I thought it might have come from. All but one!

To be honest, after the gown turned out not to be by Akris nor Ralph Lauren, I thought/hoped that it was Armani, Armani usually uses velvet so it totally made sense back then, as always, Armani people never replied.I also thought the shoes were Manolo Blahnik that Blahnik's people forgot about when they said the pumps weren't theirs!

Now how come did I forget back then to contact Dior? Actually both the gown and the shoes are Dior and both items were not on the runways of the resort, fall or the spring collections!

Charlene wore Graff Diamonds earrings, they have the same concept of Graff's iconic Butterfly earrings (shown below) but they're quite different on the lower half.

Graff declined to confirm whether the Princess actually owns the earrings or if they were a loan. The two bracelets the princess wore are not Graff.

Finally, Pablo Ardizzone did Charlene's hair to perfection that night and Stephane Madinier did her makeup. Both artists have worked with Charlene on many occasions, most importantly, her wedding day.

What do you think of Charlene's look at the MONAA gala?

P.S: You chose Princess Victoria to be added on the radar, she'll be welcomed on the blog by March (hopefully).

Worn in Week: Princess Caroline Wears Celine And Gucci in Italy!

Let's face it, Princess Caroline wears way too much Chanel! For me, it's more bothering than Charlene wearing Akris, Mathilde and Maxima wearing NATAN and Stephanie -of Luxembourg- wearing her UFO wide pants!

Last Friday, the Princess of Hanover visited the Hospital Gaslini in Genoa, Italy.

Caroline is the president of the AMADE (Association Mondiale des Amis de l’enfance), you may remember the name from the gala last year in Monaco. Caro went to donate laser equipment that will help treat children.

For the cause, Caroline wore an ensemble from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection from Celine.

I'm so in love with this color-block coat, it's very fashionable yet very appropriate for Caroline's age.

Caro also carried a Celine Trapeze bag in beige, black and navy.

The only thing I'm not sure about in this outfit is the shirt, the red collar to be precise, I can't figure out if it makes the colors in this outfit way too many or just right! But when the collar is not seen, this outfit rocks!

Friday night was the time for an AMADE gala at the Stock Exchange Palace.

Princess Caroline arrived wearing a subtle Gucci dress. The dress comes from the Fall 2012 collection (which makes me think it might actually be Charlotte's).

It was available on Net-A-Porter for $3630 and was described as:
This devoré velvet dress beautifully captures the goth-tinged aesthetic. Its intricate pattern swirls against a sheer georgette background, creating a look that's ladylike with a hint of mystery.

Two things surprise me about the choice of this dress; 1. its back is see-through. 2. It's velvet! I guess it's now safe to say that velvet is no longer unfashionable, at least for the Monegasque princely family!

Caroline joined the royal carriers of the Bottega Veneta Knot clutch. I prefer this hairdo to the one she had in the morning, but I'm not sure if she has worn these earrings before, though.

I find both outfits quite elegant and wearing Gucci in Italy is a thoughtful gesture. Also this Celine outfit is way better than the last one, let's hope she stays that way!

What do you think of both outfits?

Worn in Week: Charlene's Boxing Mystery!

While most of the Grimaldis were spotted in Switzerland attending Andrea Casiraghi and Tatiana Santo Domingo's second wedding, Charlene was seen in Monaco attending a soccer match!

The Sainte Devote Soccer tournament was a part of the Sainte Devote celebrations which —as far as I know— is a big deal in Monaco. But Charlene didn't miss out on the whole celebrations as she was spotted attending the pre-wedding fondue and leaving Switzerland early on the wedding day to attend the soccer tournament.

So Charlene repeated her black Versace coat that she first wore in 2012 and paired it with her UFO black boots and black skinny pants. I guess she wore the same lipstick she wore to Louis Vuitton's show last season and I really like scarf.

Later that night, the Princess of Monaco attended the Monte-Carlo Boxing Bonanza in the most mysterious outfits of all time!

This dress is not Akris, Dior or Ralph Lauren, no one knows who made the fur coat or the shoes (At least we know the clutch is Akris), I give up!

Also, the earrings are not Graff or Van Cleef and Arpels and the Palace wouldn't confirm anything...pfft!

Okay, so we move over to the Sochi games...

Albert and Charlene attended the presentation of the Monegasque delegate to the Olympic games. Char wore the Monaco uniform with her Armani flats.

The princely couple attended the opening ceremony, Char wore that jacket (I don't really wanna know who made it)

After that, the princely couple attended a skiing game.

Charlene von Monaco wore another uniform in black and white. Thankfully, she didn't leave it at that.

Charlene styled her outfit with some awesome sunglasses.

Char chose the Dior Exquise sunglasses in black (Nice to know I still can ID items), above ( and below) we see it in black and gold.

Dior describes them on the website as:
Using state-of-the-art technology to combine finesse and lightness, "Dior Exquise" sunglasses have a very feminine rectangular shape. The frames are in black acetate enhanced with a yellow structure. The grey lenses ensure 100% UV protection.
J'adore!

Finally, Albert and Charlene were  back in Monaco the next day (9th of Feb) to attend a football match between AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain. Saint-German scored a goal first (probably when this pic was taken) but Monaco scored one later and the two teams tied! Oh, and Char wore her camel Akris coat!

Who -in your opinion- made the Boxing Bonanza outfit?
