The Royal News: Princess Charlene is Pregnant

As many of you have expected last week, the Palace has announced today the pregnancy of H.S.H Princess Charlene of Monaco.

The birth is expected "at the end of the year" and the royal couple is "delighted" with the news.

Princess Charlene has reportedly fainted during a visit earlier in May.

This does not come as a surprise as the princess has stated more than a few times that she loves children and wishes to have some of her own with the prince. It might also be the reason of their happiness and obvious affection during the Grand Prix finale last week. You might also remember that Princess Charlene felt sick and almost fainted during a visit to the town of Carlat in France on May 14 and skipped the night dinner which raised speculations (and hopes) back then.

I'm really happy for the couple and hope the baby will be happy and healthy. I am also totally excited to see Charlene's pregnancy style with, obviously, a lot of custom made Akris garments!

Should we start the boy/girl speculation yet?

Princess Charlene Wears Akris to the Grand Prix Gala

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended the Grand Prix gala last night to celebrate the winning of Nico Rosberg. (Andrea Casiraghi attended with his wife Tatiana Santo Domingo (PIC) and Pierre attended with Beatrice Borromeo (PIC). The Duke and Duchess of Castro were also in attendance (PIC)).

For the occasion, Princess Charlene opted for another Akris frock, this time a "bougainvillea silk crepe gown with cap sleeve, zip detail on shoulder and waist". The dress also has a side slit and a round neckline.

The gown is available on Saks.com for $4990. You can buy it from HERE.

Charlene paired her gown with a mini Allegra bag in bronze metallic from Akris and Nudist sandals from Stuart Weitzman in pale gold.

The sandals are available on Bergdorfgoodman.com for $385. They're described as:

The slender design of this Stuart Weitzman sandal flatters a myriad of evening ensembles.
  • Stuart Weitzman metallic leather sandal.
  • 4 1/2" covered heel.
  • Thin strap across open toe.
  • Adjustable buckled ankle strap.
  • Leather lining, padded footbed, and sole.
  • "Nudist" is made in Spain.

You can buy them from HERE.

The princess accessorized her gown with Art Nouveau cuff from Repossi in pink gold.

The cuff is not available online but the yellow gold version of it costs 31,000 (about $42271).

You can also spot a new ruby ring on Charlene's right hand, a small photo HERE.

Charlene's hair was side-swept and wavy. Bold fuchsia (or plum) lipstick and smokey eyes completed her look. I believe the hair is done by Stephane Madinier, the makeup screams Pablo Ardizonne.

Charlene really did hit out of the park this time, the gown, the color, the jewelry, the makeup, everything was perfect and purely modern. If this is not glamorous, I don't know what is! This look totally landed my favorite look of her this year (so far). Let's just hope she stays experimental like that!

Akris Dresses Princess Charlene for the Grand Prix 2014!

Today is the final day of the 72nd Grand Prix de Monaco and the princely family, as always, stepped in to watch the race. But before talking about today's appearances, let's take a look at Charlene's outfits over the past few days.

On the 22nd, the couple met with the Grand Prix volunteers.

Princess Charlene wore a custom Akris "Tangerine silk tunic dress". Charlene paired it with brown sandals. Her diamond stud earrings completed her look. It reminds me of the Akris dress Cameron Diaz wore before but I'm in love with the color of Charlene's!

The next day and just like last year, Princess Charlene missed the Amber Lounge. But unlike last year, Prince Albert attended.

On the 24th, the princely couple visited the handicapped area.

Charlene wore white pants and a blue top that are not Akris, she paired them with the white version of the sandals she wore two days earlier (I think I now need to ID them!) and her Dior Exquise Sunglasses.

Today (the 25th), Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, Andrea and Pierre Casiraghi attend the final race. The German Nico Rosberg won while the British Lewis Hamilton scored the second place and the Australian Daniel Ricciardo got the third.

Dressing for the theme, the princess donned another custom Akris dress, this time a "white cotton dress with a red silk racing stripe" which also echoed the colors of Monaco's flag.

I don't know what kind of footwear the princess wore since we didn't get any full view pictures yet, but she wore her go-to pearl stud earrings and soft makeup (a bigger picture HERE).

Charlene always steps up her game with Akris for the Grand Prix and this year is no exception, but I need to see the gala gown tonight before making my final judgement!

Princess Charlene Welcomes Louis Vuitton in Monaco

In 1904, Mr. Louis Vuitton first served Monaco's royal family, creating travel cases in crocodile skin. One hundred and ten years later, Louis Vuitton -this time the brand- was hosted at the Place du Palais to showcase their first runway cruise collection.

The glass show venue is the first ever to be placed in the Place du Palais and hosted 300 guests with exclusive invitations that were seated on Pierre Paulin couches.

As we all know, Charlene is the one behind this show being held in Monaco. According to Michael Burke, the CEO of Louis Vuitton, Charlene said: "We have F1 why not fashion". And so the Princess arrived on the arms of her husband accompanied by Bernard Arnault, Helene Arnault and Pierre Casiraghi.

Also in attendance were Camille Gottlieb and Pauline Ducruet. Is it just me or are Princess Stephanie's daughter turning into really beautiful young ladies?

Charlene was dressed from head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton, starting with a custom navy blue dress with sequins all over the neck and bust lines.

Charlene paired her dress with Eyeline pumps which you can buy from HERE for £920. They're described as:

Eyeline Pump : One of the statements of the season, this timelessly chic pump in precious python leather is distinguished by its sleek lines and graphic details, including a pointed toe, straight stiletto heel and golden Louis Vuitton accessory at the back.

Char also carried a gold Bijou clutch, shown below in..... hmm, some other colour!
Some serious bling was involved as well.

A "Voyage dans le temps" cuff adorned her left arm. The Flashforward cuff from this collection plays with the idea of pixels. The blue is gran feu enamel against a beautiful checker board effect of diamonds (Shown below is the red enamel version). A quite similar bracelet is shown on the website with an £82,000 price tag!

Finally, Les Ardentes stud earrings completed her look.

The setting for the show was quite amazing with the floor looking like rocks under water and was really fun to watch (even on online stream). The cruise collection on itself was colorful and playful, but I have to say I'm not a big fan of the clothes. Below are my favorite looks from the collection though. You can see all the looks HERE.

I'd be happy seeing Charlene in any of these looks, let's hope this show means more Louis Vuitton in her closet!

One last thing:

A suitcase belonging to to Princess Charlotte circa 1920. I tell ya, if they've kept the suitcases, then they've kept the jewels. And just like the suitcase, we'll see them all one day!
