Princess Charlene's Fashion

Princess Charlene in Dior to the Red Cross Ball 2014

Prince Albert took pregnant Princess Charlene out tonight to one of Monaco's most important events; the Red Cross Ball.

And just like her late mother in law, Princess Charlene chose Dior to design her a maternity gown.

I still don't have an official description of the dress, but it seems to be made of blue silk taffeta with a draped black back that cascades diagonally from the armholes and the shoulders to reveal the back of the princess and continue to make a train.

I can't decide yet if this counts as a tent dress or not, in some photos it looks almost figure-hugging, in others it looks pretty tent-y!

Charlene accessorized her look with silver Dior pumps.

Char's choice for Dior makes a lot of sense. Not only is the house a favorite of her and the family over the years, but it also has recently signed a 3-year partnership agreement with the Princess Grace Foundation (more about that on Vogue).
As for the jewelry, Charlene has worn a new diamond flower headband and a pair of earrings.

And also a new diamond bracelet. The jewelry is most probably from Van Cleef and Arpels, but the Palace is yet to confirm that.

UPDATE: The earrings and headband are by Graff, read more HERE!

I will be updating this post with the description of the gown along with the official IDs for the jewelry and HQ photos.Meanwhile:

Do you like this maternity gown on Princess Charlene?

  2. Princess Charlene is definitely the most beautiful princess in Europe. She seems to get better with age - a late bloomer!

    Absolute perfection!!

  3. Bijoussimo claims that the headband is by Graff and I agree the their floral alice band looks like it could be what Princess Charlene is wearing.

    1. I agree. And if I remember it correctly, Charlene has had jewellery from Graff even before.

    2. I was actually the first one who said it might be Graff on Twitter. The tricky part is that Van Cleef and Arpels is tagged in Charlene's photos on Getty. I'm waiting for confirmations from both designers, but it's weekend!

    3. I'm sorry. Did not mean to be impolite - but I'm not following Twitter (such persons do exist).

  4. Now this is what a pregnant Princess should look like. This Dior gala gown is amazing, the beautiful colour looking wonderful against Charlene's blonde hair and fair skin. Her jewellery is beautifully elegant but discreet and her smile, wonderful

  5. Besides just the dress, hairdo, jewels, and make-up, it was the happiness in her eyes that really transformed her into this confident and regal princess. The absolute joy in becoming a mother. I think in the past (as many people have noted), we have seen sadness in her eyes (could it have been due to past miscarriages, and hence Prince Albert's comment about them being extra cautious). I hope that all will be safe now that she is starting her 5th month. I definitely think that they will have twins, and that the twins will both be Olympians like their parents.
