Princess Charlene Wears Carolina Herrera to New York

As you may have heard, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene (as well as many others heads of state) traveled to New York to attend the Clinton Global Initiative, the UN meetings and, for Charlene, Autism Speaks.

For the first event, the Global Citizen Awards, the Princess of Monaco chose a Carolina Herrera pantsuit with a bejeweled blazer and a sleeveless tiered bow top.

The blazer is made of "Tiered silk with sequin detailing" and features a "contrast square neckline and wide shoulder straps with a bow detail at chest". It's currently available on Neiman Marcus and retails for $2,290. You can buy it from HERE.

I think this outfit works really well for Charlene as the tiers help conceal the bump, which seems to be Charlene's goal at this stage, yet look really stylish and fashionable.

Charlene's diamond stud earrings seem new to me, and I'm yet to identify the clutch (any suggestions would be appreciated).

On the second day, Albert and Charlene attended the opening plenary session "Reimagining Impact". Charlene opted for a Kimono-Sleeve Double-Face Dress in dark burgundy.

The Akris-looking frock has a V-neckline and oversized kimono sleeves. A black version is available on Neiman Marcus for $2,290. You can buy it from HERE.

Charlene paired it with brown tights and what seems to be suede Jimmy Choo pumps and a chocolate brown clutch.

On the 23rd, The Princely Couple attended a reception hosted by President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.

Char donned another Carolina Herrera number. This time a satin ombre sleeveless midi sheath dress.

The dress features a boat neckline and princess seams. It's also available at Neiman Marcus for $2,290 (seems like Carolina Herrera's prices are fixed?), you can buy it from HERE.

Charlene teamed the dress with black patent pumps and most probably no jewelry. I like how the dress almost totally hides Charlene's maternity curves. I also love that she tried another designer for a change (I believe Charlene's pieces were custom made for her, but I'm yet to confirm that), the results are really successful, no?

Which look is your favorite?

  1. I'm surprised to see Charlene in Carolina Herrera but love the pairing (although I don't love the sheath dress).

    1. Me, too. I've always thought Carolina Herrera would suit Charlene, but I didn't expect to see Charlene going for it!

  2. Hi Kem,
I like the light blue maternity dress suit that she wear the next day. Do you have any info on who designed that? I especially like the picture of her holding her belly - its because the baby/babies kicked. It's a most re-assuring feeling for mother. I remember those days well.
