Princess Eugenie is engaged; my top tiara guess!

Buckingham Palace announced the engagement of Princess Eugenie of York to Jack Brooksbank earlier today. The Palace also released pictures taken today at the picture gallery in Buckingham Palace. First, let’s obsess over the handsome couple for a minute!

Second, let’s take a look at Eugenie’s gorgeous engagement ring

The jeweler responsible for this masterpiece is yet to be revealed, but we know that the stone is a rare Brooksbank sapphire that’s estimated to have cost Jack a whopping sum of 100k British Pounds.

Surprisingly, The Princess of York chose to repeat an Erdem dress that she has worn twice before.

First, she wore the Hetty embroidered silk-organza mini dress to pose for Harper’s Bazaar and another time for another event. The gorgeous dress originally retailed for $5,758 (sold out everywhere), but Eugenie rarely ever repeats clothes!

Thinking about Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress, I can’t imagine of a designer other than Vivienne Westwood. But I’ll leave dress speculation to a later time. For now, I'm putting all my money on one tiara .......

 The York Diamond tiara

Duchess of York wedding tiara

The tiara was bought from the court jeweler, Garrard, and gifted to the Sarah, Duchess of York shortly after her wedding. Since it hasn't been seen since the scandalous divorce. And what's a better occasion to wear this piece of art other than Eugenie's own wedding? At least, I'm hoping so!

Which tiara do you want Princess Eugenie to wear?

Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella Christmas 2017 Fashion!

The Princely Twins made a couple of appearances in December in time for Christmas. The first was a visit to the Christmas village in Monte Carlo.

For this visit. Prince Jacques wore a Christmas sweater from the Disney store. The sweater originally cost $34.95 but is now on sale for $10.99 and you can buy it from HERE.

Princess Gabriella went a little bit more to the high-end side and wore a floral nylon coat with a fur trim by Dolce and Gabbana. The coat is now sold out but it originally retailed for $682. Last time this D&G coat was seen online, it was on sale for $409.
For the annual Christmas photo, the twins switched places.

Prince Jacques climbed up the high fashion hill and wore an ivory white Gucci shirt that retails for $275 and you can buy from HERE.
Gabriella on the other side went for a modest, yet purely enchanting, red dress by United Colors of Benetton. The frock originally retailed for £35.95 but is now on sale £17.98 and is available on their website.
Seeing Gabriella and Jacques is always a treat for me. It's amazing watching them grow up from tiny babies (hyperlink) to the beautiful children they are now. I can't help but be concerned -from a modernist perspective- if the Gabriella is always in pink/red and Jacques is in neutral/blue just because they are expected to wear certain colours and styles based on their genders. Prince Albert and Princess Charlene said once in an interview that Gabriella likes pink, so I'm really hope she's not dressed to meet a certain stereotype!

What do you think of the twins' outfits?

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene Visit Burkina Faso

Last Sunday, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene visited Burkina Faso on what was described as "a friendly" visit (not official or state). The Princely couple arrived at night and were received by the president and the first lady.

If the suit looks familiar, that's because it is the Vanessa Gounden suit she wore to visit a kindergarten in Monaco in 2016.

I really like the jacket, but I still think it would have looked way better with a pencil skirt instead of these culottes.

On day 2, the Prince and Princess of Monaco were joined again by the presidential couple for a welcome ceremony at the Kosyam Palace followed by a visit to a preschool. For these events, Charlene repeated a Ralph Lauren double-breasted blazer and Celine cropped pants. Finishing the look was a pair of black Jimmy Choo heels and pearl earrings. Then came a dinner given in the couple's honour.

The dress the princess wore is designed by Burkina Faso's fashion house Bazem'Se Couture. Seb Bazemo, the designer behind this frock revealed that the dress was custom-made at the Princess's request.

Upon her arrival, the princess asked for a Burkina Faso-based designer to make the dress for her and that's how she was introduced to Seb who visited her in the hotel and took her measurements. four and a half hours later, this dress made of a knitted stretch fabric was delivered for the princess to wear to the dinner. I believe the clutch is one Char's Akris ostrich clutches.

On day 3, Al and Char opened the new Red Cross headquarters in a traditional dress for Albert and a traditional turban for Charlene.

Charlene and Mrs. Sika Bella Kaboré later visited a neo hospital.

Later that night, the Prince and Princess departed Ouagadougou to Monaco.

I choose not to comment on this outfit because I'm glad she wore a dress by a local designer on the trip. Plus the couple is all smiles and the scarf is, at least, a colour.
