Princess Charlene's Fashion

Princess Charlene in Akris for the First Day of the Monaco 2019 Grand Prix 🇲🇨

It's this time of the year again. Celebrities of all kinds are flocking into the Cote d'Azur for Cannes Film Festival, the galas, and last but not least, The Grand Prix de Monaco.

The highlight of the Monegasque summer calendar kicked off today with a very important cause that Princess Charlene has been involved in lately, road safety. Joined by Prince Albert, Charlene de Monaco received Mr. Jean Todt, President of the Federation Internationale de L'automobile, the organization of which Princess Charlene is now a special ambassador.

On this occasion, Jean Todt presented the new banner of the #3500Lives campaign, bringing together HSH Princess Charlene and Charles Leclerc, Monaco's Formula 1 driver to raise awareness about road safety. According to the FIA, 3500 people die in accidents every day, 50% of which are pedestrians. The campaign video shows Her Serene Highness asking drivers to look carefully for pedestrians while driving.

Style note: Princess Charlene wore an Akris Nappa Leather jacket that she first wore to present Novak Djokovic with his Laureus Award in 2015.

After that, Their Serene Highnesses went down to the tracks to greet members of the Red Cross and say hi to the drivers, including the renowned, Lewis Hamilton.

The Princess ditched the prescription glasses for reflective sunglasses, added a red cross (?) lapel pin and carried a clutch.

What Charlene Wore

The Princess chose an olive-green Akris wide-leg crop jumpsuit from the Spring 2019 collection. The silk jumpsuit features a self-tie that HSH draped to the left side.

The beige version of the jumpsuit is currently on sale on Moda Operandi for $1,434.

The Princess wore a silk Akris lapel collar jacket on top of her jumpsuit. the jacket is very light as the sleeves are sheer.

The beige version of this jacket is also currently on sale on Moda Operandi for $2,394.

The big clutch Princess Charlene carried is the GIVENCHY Antigona Envelope Clutch in brown. This clutch is so classy and very distinguishable. It's currently available in black on Net-A-Porter for $1,395.

The Princess swept her now mid-length hair to the side and it is looking GOOD thanks to Stephane Madininer. Her simple natural makeup was done by Rubi Long who has worked with the princess extensively in the past.

Now the question is do you prefer the princess with prescription glasses or sunglasses?
