Princess Charlene Wears Louis Vuitton to the 2019 Monte-Carlo Film Festival

Today Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended the closing ceremony of the 59th Monte Carlo TV Festival which is also known as the Nymph Awards.

Posing with Michael Douglas who received the Crystal Nymph Award this year, the Princess proved me right when I guessed she'd attend the event :D

Posing with Prince Albert, Princess Charlene surprised us with a white gown. Why is it a surprise? Because it's not black, and not Akris.

Princess turned to Louis Vuitton, a brand she hardly ever wears for evening gowns. The gown comes from the 2019 Pre-Fall collection and "made from luxurious silk-cady mousse, this Long Embroidered Dress is centred around a flattering gather at the waist. It is embellished with a solar motif of darkly sparkling charcoal-gray rhinestones. Shoulder pads structure the silhouette and the middle slit adds a sultry note". The dress is available on the Louis Vuitton website in both white and black (thank god she didn't go for the black one) for $7,750.

To be honest with you, I didn't like this gown in stills, it looked matronly and underwhelming, but after seeing photos of the princess walking in it, it grew on me, the dress flows nicely and the slit shows enough leg to balance out the decolletage. I also wasn't a fan of the waist but it also looks a lot better in motion.
What I haven't come around about are the shoes. Princess Charlene wore these Dior satin pumps with ankle straps. I wish she had gone for sandals, preferably silver. We know she has a lot of those.

The hair, the makeup, and the jewelry were all on fleek, though. Princess Charlene wore her Repossi engagement ring. The gorgeous earrings are Graff (which just opened a new store in Monaco). They are described as layered diamond hoop earrings "gleaming rows of round and invisibly set baguette cut diamonds are transformed into scintillating curves that flow like ribbons, contrasted with the architectural beauty of pear shape diamonds." This pair boasts 30.57 carats and you really shouldn't even think about asking how much they cost!

Do you like this look on HSH?

5 Events We Can Expect Princess Charlene at This June

Now that we're over the Grand Prix high, I'm looking forward to more appearances of Princess Charlene this summer. So I compiled a list of 5 events Her Serene Highness is most likely to attend.

June 15th: 24 Heures du Mans 2019

Princess Charlene 24 Heures du Mans 2019

In just a few days, the Princess is expected to give the Start for the 24 Heures du Mans 2019. Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest: "We are delighted and proud to announce that HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco has accepted to be the starter of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019. Her personality symbolizes the major role that women have to lead in motorsports and in society."  This day will be very exciting for the princess who enjoys racing games (responsible racing, that is).

June 18th: Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo Nymph Awards

Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo

It's not clear yet whether Princess Charlene will attend the closing ceremony like she did last year. But there will most probably be a reception at the Palace for which the princess will be present.

June 21th: 23rd French Formula One Grand Prix

Princess Charlene French Grand Prix

Last year, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene attended the French Formula One Race Day. The actual race day is on the 23rd, but the Princess has another engagement that day, so it'll be either or, I'm happy as long as it's not neither.

June 22 - 23rd: 2nd Meeting of Grimaldi Historic Sites of Monaco

2nd Meeting of Grimaldi Historic Sites of Monaco

Last year, the entire family attended the 1st Meeting of Grimaldi Historic Sites of Monaco and Gabriella and Jacques wore the traditional Monegasque costumes. This year, we might see the entire Grimaldi clan including Her Serene Highness at the Place de Palais to watch Dances, folklore and cultural performances as well various workshops.

June 23rd: St. Jean Festivities

Princess Charlene St. Jean Festivities

The Prince and Princess did not watch the festivities from the balcony last year. I can't remember whether Princess Caroline did. But before that, Princess Charlene has always watched the festivities from the balcony, sometimes with Jacques and Gabriella. So it's safe to expect to see them again.

June 27 - 30th: Elegance and Automobile Monte-Carlo 2019

Elegance and Automobile Monte-Carlo 2019

This event is confirmed for the Prince and Princess. The Elegance and Automobile Monte-Carlo 2019 will commence on the 27th with several events taking place. On the 30th, the Prince and Princess will host an award ceremony at the Palais Princier. Since it's a gala, we should expect to see Princess Charlene in a gown.

This means we have 2 evening dresses this month, are you as excited as I am?

Princess Charlene Visits the Annenberg Foundation in California

A few days ago, Princess Charlene visited Wallis Annenberg PetSpace in California. Wallis, CEO of the Annenberg Foundation, is a friend of the Grimaldi's and has met Princess Charlene on several occasions, most notably in 2016 at the official launch of Princess Charlene's Foundation in the USA. The Wallis Annenberg Foundation has partnered with the PCF multiple times since then.

Wallis Annenberg showed Princess Charlene around PetSpace and shared with her what the organization does to promote the science and education of the human-animal bond. Princess Charlene also had the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the adoptable pets including adorable puppies that came to PetSpace from the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control.

We know Princess Charlene cares about animal welfare and rights. A few months ago, she visited a rhino orphanage in South Africa and she has owned multiple dogs since before her marriage to the Prince. She's had Monte, a chihuahua & Carlo, a Yorkie. Carlo died in an accident in 2015, and it's unknown what happened to Monte. Now the Princess has two chihuahuas, Thula & Wena (both words are isizulu and mean "keep quiet").

Did Princess Charlene adopt one of these puppies?

"Though she did not adopt from us, she loved meeting our dogs and cats that we are working to find wonderful and caring homes," said a PetSpace representative.

Style Note:

Princess Charlene wore the same jeans she wore in South Africa earlier this year. The designer is unknown and I assume she got them from South Africa.

Doesn't she look radiant with all the puppies?
